I wanted to try a new series out on my blog because I’ve always wanted to just share my outside life with you (which I do in some blogposts) and I finally feel comfortable to do it! Tell me what you think?

Jessica and friends posing for a photo.

1. As many of you knew yesterday was my mock trial and it went great! Overall I am mainly happy that it’s OVER! Time to sleep and bake again! This is me with my “fans”  including my mom (red scarf) and Mr. Jessiker Bakes (my dad was outside chatting when we took it haha). Thats me in the middle looking like a QC.

Valentine's Day Dinner - Crab Cakes, Lobster Cannelloni and Carrot Cake.

2. Amidst all the madness of preparation, yesterday was still also Valentine’s Day. Thank God for my romantic man because after all of that we had a yummy meal at the Rojo Restaurant at the Spanish Court Hotel – mine consisted of Crab Cakes (app), Lobster Cannelloni and Carrot Cake for dessert which was all delicious. Yes I do suck at taking pictures with my phone – I have no idea what’s up with that.

Spilt milk on kitchen floor.

3. Also, last week I think I achieved what many will never be able to, making a complete mess of a photoshoot. Fortunately this was after I was done but no used crying over spilled milk (get it?)

4. I have found myself back on the insanely adorable mochithings.com website and I am afraid that this time around I will end up ordering the entire site. Why wouldn’t I need a gold ribbon card case, pink dot fuji instax film, a white bunny key ring and most important of all, a chocolate gingerbread cookie screen cleaner?? P.S. if your’e obsessed with planners like me, they only have like, 150 different choices of ridiculously cute and gorgeous choices. Yes, please.

5. I am a sucker for packaging. Which explains why I am totally in love with makeup and all the adorable packaging and I have informed the Mr. that we will go to Korea so I can buy those gorgeous looking blushes, lipsticks and hand creams. Don’t I sound like I have my priorities in order?

6. Am I the only one who makes a big deal of customer service? Last night at the Restaurant the service was great – like, serve the female first great. Yes, I’m realising a lot of places no longer do this, or the classics of the man should taste the wine before you pour an entire glass, then you still serve the female first. I love that! Old style class is great, but that might be because I’m secretly from the 50s, especially since everyone describes my style as cute vintage. I love these swingy dresses.

7. Speaking of swingy dresses, these right here from ModCloth are my thing. I’m not affiliated with them but it’s totally my favourite store for gorgeous full vintage dresses. I even went so far as to order a size too big because really wanted this dress.

8. I am now getting constantly harassed for now watching Scandal, and the fact that I never understand Scandal jokes is making me wonder – yes or no? Do any of you watch it?

Wine and Cheese platter.

9. I have a new found love of olives since the Mr. and I went on a wine and cheese date last weekend. I’ve always loved wine; any friend could tell you that it’s my favourite grown up drink (I love feeling grown up), specifically Sauvignon Blanc. love. But this place Bin 26 here does a wine and cheese that is so lovely, with a platter filled with cheese you can pick (d-uh to havarti and gruyere amongst the picks), bread and crackers, pepper jelly and olives. Green olives. I’ve always said ew these probably don’t taste good and avoided them, just decided to “woman”-up. What have I been doing all my life? Mr. Jessiker Bakes had to stop me from eating them all since he was really the one who ordered them – oops. I still swiped the last one. Also, we got watermelon and I was like, why would I need watermelon? Apparently it totally cleanses your palate so your wine tastes amazing again after shovelling down cheese, bread and olives. We have decided that we will always have a jar of green olives, soaked in oil of course.

10. Speaking of soaked in oil – ugh what is with me and cheese – ever since our date at a local Greek restaurant Opa! I cannot get rid of my feta obsession. I had to stop myself from buying another pack – it’s getting bad. Then I saw it soaked in olive oil and almost died. I’ve been spending a lot of time in the cheese section of the supermarket, staring at the feta in oil and wondering whether to try it. Someone encourage me!

What was your week like?
